Scalable processes. Stable growth. I take over operational leadership — in growth phases, post-merger or turnaround situations.
Operational responsibility — not just recommendations. I am part of your leadership team and deliver measurable results.
Every situation is different. These are the four scenarios I encounter most frequently — does your situation look familiar?
Growth Scale-up
Your company is growing faster than your structures. I build scalable processes, clear accountabilities and reporting structures — so leadership is relieved and can focus on what matters most.
Post-Merger Integration
After an acquisition, teams, processes and cultures must be unified. I take over the operational integration — with a clear timeline, defined milestones and a focus on people retention.
Turnaround & Crisis
Operational misalignment, cost escalation or efficiency problems. I rapidly analyse root causes, prioritize measures and drive them through operationally — with a focus on measurable outcome improvement.
Leadership Gap Bridge
Your COO is leaving the company at short notice. I bridge the leadership gap immediately, maintain operational continuity and support the hiring of a successor.
An Interim COO temporarily assumes the operational leadership of a company. They are responsible for translating company strategy into day-to-day operations, leading operational teams, optimizing processes and ensuring that departments collaborate efficiently. Unlike external consultants, the Interim COO holds genuine leadership responsibility and is embedded in operational decision-making.
Typical triggers: your COO is leaving the company (short-term vacancy), you are growing too quickly and operational structures cannot keep up (scale-up phase), you have just completed an acquisition and need to integrate two organizations (post-merger), or you are facing an operational turnaround (efficiency problems, cost escalation, process chaos).
The core difference: a consultant analyses and recommends — an Interim COO decides and executes. As Interim COO I am part of the leadership team, directly lead operational teams, bear accountability for results and am involved in daily decisions. No report that disappears into a drawer — but measurable operational improvements.
Typical mandates run 3–18 months, depending on the situation. Vacancy bridging often takes 3–6 months until a successor is found. Transformation and post-merger mandates typically run 6–12 months. Turnaround situations 6–18 months depending on complexity.
Day rates for experienced Interim COOs in the DACH market typically range between EUR 1,500 and 3,500 net — depending on experience, industry complexity and scope. For an accurate proposal, a short initial conversation for situation analysis is the best next step — free and non-binding.
Yes — remote share is 40–70% depending on the situation. For leadership-intensive phases (onboarding, crises, strategy workshops, team decisions) on-site presence is important. In ongoing operations, 2–3 on-site days per week plus remote work is often optimal. Regional coverage: DACH, EU on request.
30 minutes — free of charge. I analyse your situation and give an honest assessment of which model fits your phase.
